Welcome to Glen Barrera’s not-very-fancy website. My first novel, The Assassin Who Couldn’t Dance has been out for a few months now. It is available through Amazon. Please see the “Books” section for more information and links.
My second novel, A Capable and Wide Revenge, which follows the characters introduced in the first book, is recently published and available on Amazon. A third novel, Sweet Peach, is now under construction.
Writing and What-not?
As a writer, I write. Along the way I’ve created some short pieces that happened to strike me at the moment. They’ve been sitting within my laptop, forgotten. I’ll share some of those along with the occasional blog post.
About me?
I’m a former partner in a real estate appraisal company. Over the years I’ve edited a company newsletter, written short stories (one of them a contest winner) and poetry. It wasn’t until I divorced a few years ago, however, that I finally found time to take a writing course while working on my first novel.
I grew up in Chicago, with college at Western Illinois University, College of DuPage and the University of Illinois, Chicago. I studied Isshinryu Karate for fourteen years, sailed for seven years out of Burnham Harbor, Chicago, practice Tai Chi and play classical and blues guitar. A Chicago boy at heart, I now live in a western suburb.

Hi Gong (sorry could’t help myself. Glad to hear your next book will be out soon. Whats the third book about? Thanks for the birthday greeting. Lees is coming soon. Silly Lee he still thinks he is the pool champ. ha ha. Love Roger

Hi Rog. Thanks for posting. The third book takes place in Tennessee with the title character Sweet Peach caught between the mob and a town that makes up its own rules. Hector, Lucy and the others will be back once again. Oh, and another character from the first book will also be back…won’t say who. Love, G.
